Stage 3 Theatre Company's
Festival of New Plays 2007

Congratulations to the 2007 Finalists

A God in the House by Peter Selgin

Skin Deep by Rich Orloff

The Unholy Ghost by Ron Osborne

Thank you to the playwrights who submitted your work. Obviously our choices are subjective but I want you to know that those choices were particularly difficult to make this year. The quality continues to astound us. We realize that it’s almost impossible to get a new work in front of the public. But please don’t stop. Theater needs you. For what it’s worth, please accept all the praise, gratitude and encouragement that this small theater in the Sierra Nevada Foothills can offer.

I apologize for the delay in posting the finalists. Sometimes keeping this small theater in action is a daunting challenge that keeps us way too busy.

Don Bilotti, Artistic Director

The Project Defined:

The Tenth Annual Festival of New Plays in 2006 is designed to give professional readings of new works and works in progress and promotes the development of new plays by emerging and established playwrights. The Festival serves to increase the visibility of those writers, and to encourage production of their work in the nation's theatres. Plays selected will be given readings in October 2006. Playwrights will participate in the Festival weekend if possible, (transportation within North America and housing provided).

This weekend includes post-play discussion and written critique sheets from the audience. The Festival winner may be offered a full production in the following season.

"Crows Landing Gently, Gently" by Californian Michael Lynch, was given its world premiere production in 1998.

"Return to Morality" by Chicago playwright Jamie Pachino, was produced in Stage 3's 1999 season.

The 1999 winner was "Panama" by New York playwright Michael T. Folie.

"A Show of Her Own" by Connecticut playwright Suzanne Wingrove was produced in 2001.

"A Short Stay at Carranor", by California’s William Blinn was produced in 2002.

"Flights of Fancy" by Suzanne Wingrove was produced in 2003.

"Twin Primes" by New York playwright Alex Lewin was produced in 2004.
